Finding & Returning

For much of the first half of life, we are searching.
We search for success.
We search for recognition.
We search for love.
We search for belonging.
We search for a better version of ourselves.
But somewhere along the way, many of us begin to realize:
Maybe the real problem is not that we cannot find the answer.
Maybe it is that we no longer know who we truly are.
The Little Prince is a story about leaving.
Siddhartha is a story about seeking.
And in the end, both point us toward the same place:
returning.
Returning to the heart.
Returning to the truest center of life.
In a world that keeps getting louder,
may reading teach us how to listen again.
To listen to life.
To listen to ourselves.

Each week includes a brief, approachable neuroscience note, about 10 minutes long.
Neuroscience is not the focus of this reading circle.
It simply gives us another lens for understanding questions like:
Why do people repeat the same patterns?
Why is change so difficult?
Why do we understand certain truths but still struggle to live them?
Why do relationships shape our lives so deeply?

Topics may include:

(Attention System)How attention shapes what we notice and remember.
(DMN)The mind’s inner narrative and self-reflection network.
(Attachment System)How early and ongoing relationships affect our sense of safety and connection.
(Dopamine)How motivation, desire, and reward influence behavior.
(Neuroplasticity)The brain’s capacity to change through experience and practice.
(Social Brain)How we understand, respond to, and are shaped by others.
Research on meaning, well-being, and a life that feels worth living.
